Summary
The development of ›Land Development Information System LEFIS‹ for the continuous processing of land consolidation was initiated in 2000 by the Working Committee of national and federal state level »Nachhaltige Landentwicklung« (sustainable land development). It was followed by the implementation of its first level of development (2012–2015). Subsequently, the piloting and production phase began – including troubleshooting and functional expansions. The situation in the state of Brandenburg required a nearly seamless transition from the implementation phase to the production phase. While the addition of new features present added value to LEFIS, the rather short piloting phase has and continues to present challenges.
