Zusammenfassung
Summary
Land consolidation procedures are used in Lower Saxony in the sense of the agricultural and environmental policy objectives presented by the state government in the coalition agreement as well as a sustainable regional development. Since 2013 in Lower Saxony there must be shown an additional ecological value in the »preparation and initiation«-phase of every land consolidation project. This value is allocated to different criteria (Climate protection, Biotope protection, Flood protection, Water protection, Moor protection, Protection against land degradation and Protection of species diversity). The consideration of § 2 Bundesnaturschutzgesetz (German Nature Conservation Act) has thereby an important place in the selection of land consolidation procedures. As a result, project sponsors of ecological projects also have financial advantages in the realization of their projects.
