Summary
The new EDM calibration baseline at the University of the Federal Armed Forces Munich in Neubiberg is traced back to the definition of the meter by an intercomparison programme organized by the Society for Calibration of Geodetic Devices and a campaign accomplished by the Finnish Geodetic Institute with low uncertainty. The data sets from 2011 und 2014 compared, a difference in scale of approx. –0,2 ppm is to note and the average deviation of the compared pillar distances in all combinations is smaller than 0,1 mm. Such a result can only be obtained with high-quality performance of the measurements in strict compliance with all requirements and an excellent stability of the pillars. The achieved accuracy level makes the calibration baseline a primary normal for the traceability of EDM distances.
