Zusammenfassung
Summary
The European Copernicus programme provides a comprehensive and performant infrastructure for satellite-based earth observation. Seven dedicated satellites and six services are in operation today. The use and exploitation of this infrastructure is growing steadily and is supported both at European level and at national level in Germany. Use cases for different administrative levels illustrate the breadth of possible applications. The new EU space programme and a recent programme decision by ESA continue the programme and further expand its scope.
