Summary
Virtual reconstructions of historical objects are a challenging as well as worthwhile possibility to create historically correct illustrations. They form the basis for a modern representation of historical facts and at the same time provide information about past events or can be used for their validation. In this article, using the example of the virtual reconstruction of historic buildings, at the time of National Socialist terror a methodology is shown with which a virtual reconstruction of historical objects is possible. The created 3D model gives the memorial administration the possibility to give the visitor an idea of the concentration camp Langenstein-Zwieberge at the time of the liberation in 1945 despite the lack of historical buildings.
