Summary
Analytical hillshadings of high-resolution digital terrain models are new products of geotopography. However, in German federal states they are calculated not uniformly but partially by specific parameters. This causes different visual results for comparable topographic situations. In this article three standard versions of hillshading are confronted with a new version with a steep incidence of light which is qualified to become a standard for large-scale hillshading.
