Zusammenfassung
Summary
The official height reference system of Germany is currently implemented by the DHHN92, the German Height Reference Frame of 1992. The benchmarks of the DHHN92 and of the entire height network are the basis for all further geodetic work using the height reference frame. The DHHN92 was established after the German reunification without a comprehensive remeasurement of the height network.
In 2002 the German state surveying offices discussed the quality, accuracy and timeliness of the height reference frame with respect to future requirements. To examine these questions the working group spatial reference of the Working Committee of the Surveying Authorities of the States of the Federal Republic of Germany (AdV) set up the project group »Renewal of the DHHN«. Between the years 2006 and 2012 re-measurements of the German first order levelling network were carried out to get a contemporary and modern basis for the spatial reference in Germany. The renewal of the DHHN92 is one of the most important AdV projects in recent years.
This paper describes the technical requirements and the objectives of this project in the context of future work. The organization of the project, the field measurements and technical requirements are discussed. First results and analyses are shown.
