Summary
Building-up Land Administration in developing and emerging countries differs significantly from the usual way in developed countries. In development cooperation projects some specific factors have to be considered and specific methods are implemented. Besides legal and technical framework conditions of the project’s country particularly the willingness of local partners to actively participate is decisive. The inclusion of local experts has to be secured from the beginning by continuous training and delegation of responsibility. This paper introduces methodologies and experiences in land administration projects made in development cooperation projects, focusing specifically the role of the consulting business.
