Summary
With a view to the challenges of the demographic change, stakeholders of spatial planning need population data, which can be assigned to flexible spatial aggregation levels and software solutions, which enable users to set the data professionally in value. For this purpose, there are among others, digital planning support systems, which are often not accepted by the users. This article shows the reasons for the rejection of such systems and describes a way how the problem of planning support can be approached in the context of demographic change on the basis of technologies and methods of geoinformatics. For this purpose, first the requirements to a support system were established. On this basis, a concept using spatial information technologies was developed and implemented. This was followed by an evaluation of the development result with planning actors.
