Summary
The paper presents the current work on the Citizen Science platform enviroCar that supports the collection and analysis of car-borne sensor data for sustainable transport concepts. With the help of OBD‑II adapters and smartphones the vehicle sensor data can be read out while driving and then be published as open data under an open data license. Data as well as analysis methods and the resulting maps are available via open standardized interfaces for citizens, traffic planners, scientists and businesses freely available and can be used for answering questions, for example in the field of transport planning and the development of concepts for electromobility. The paper presents the architecture of the platform as well as current work topics and describes the objectives and priorities of further development.
