Summary
Within a two-year R&D project (Research and Development), the prototype of a GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) based real-time positioning service is developed using the SSR-RTK (State Space Representation-Real Time Kinematic) approach for the exclusive economic zone (EEZ) in the North Sea. Because of the heterogeneous distribution of GNSS reference stations and especially the lack of reference stations in the main area of interest, the modeling of GNSS correction data and the processing algorithm is of critical importance. The Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) as the customer, the Central Office SAPOS (ZSS) as a service provider and Geo++ GmbH as the software provider jointly develop the prototype. First land-based test measurements have been conducted in a replicated test environment, yielding promising results in view of the quality goals of the collaborative project.
