Zusammenfassung
Summary
The official land use statistics form the basis for the calculation of land take which is a key indicator in the German sustainability strategy of the federal government. Various changes in the survey methodology for actual land use in the underlying municipal real estate cadastre cause artefacts and affect the calculation of land take in Germany. In this article, such impacts on the indicator are quantified and it is examined whether and how artifacts can be fixed by statistical adjustments. As a result, it can be stated that a separation of artefacts and actual changes in use is generally not possible and thus there always remains an uncertainty in the course of the time series of land take.
