Initiatives like open data, open government and applications like open street map and google maps are challenges for the official surveying and mapping administrations. The cadastral system ALKIS® and the system ATKIS® of the mapping administration are running parallel on a common data model. The discussion starts on further harmonisation to build up ONE common reference data standard by 2030. As a first step the GeoInfoDok 7 (standard for the official information systems ALKIS®, ATKIS® and AFIS®) will focus on the harmonisation of common feathers in the cadastre and the mapping information systems. This article likes to address the current situation especially from the local cadastral point of view and wants to initiate further discussions.
