Summary
One of the essential tasks of the state surveying authorities according to the surveying laws of Baden Wuerttemberg is to gather and provide current and quality controlled geoinformation. Geoinformation needs to be constantly updated and developed demand-oriented. Furthermore, the use of »historical« reference data, meaning not only current reference data, becomes more important in order to set up monitoring processes in combination with various specialized information. The development and performant provision of reference data in time series, as well as automated detection of landscape objects and landscape changes are future tasks. These are major challenges not only for the State Office for Spatial Information and Land Development (Landesamt für Geoinformation und Landentwicklung, LGL), but also for the software and hardware development.
